I don’t think anyone has had more of an impact on my world view than Thomas Sowell. The recently released documentary about him by Jason Riley, “Common Sense in a Senseless World”, is a great introduction to the man, his life and the evolution of his philosophy. That it took so long for me and countless others to learn about him and his ideas is deeply concerning. Thomas Sowell is considered by many to be one of the most influential and brilliant minds of the past half-century. So why doesn’t everyone know about him?
I first encountered him during COVID lockdown when I started spending more time watching interviews and podcasts with people who reject the victim narrative being pushed at black Americans from the left. I’ve watched a half dozen long-form interviews with him and particularly enjoyed this one with Peter Robinson.
Thomas Sowell is 90 years old. Don’t let another day go by without learning more about him.
